MoD will publish tables containing data for the 21,717 files of recalculated military pensions on the institution’s website today, the ministry announced on Tuesday. The institution notes that the decision was made in order to show that pensions of people with full careers in the Army, smaller by RON 3,000, were not going to be cut. Yesterday, President Traian Basescu was set to meet with decision-makers in military institutions, claiming that, although very few pensions would be cut, the actual problem was the faulty public communication. According to the president, the need to collect income statements from the various places of employment by December 1 was ‘obviously’ not met. PDL Deputy Sulfina Barbu told RFI yesterday that the Ministers of Defence, Interior and Labour were responsible for the situation created and that they should give explanations and produce solutions.
