Another new flu case reported in Iasi

A 26-year-old woman, from Iasi, was diagnosed with the virus AH1N1, this being the fifth new flu case reported in the county since the beginning of the year. “The woman went to see her GP with a light form of the disease. She is currently undergoing a short-term treatment at home, given that her general health condition is good,” is further stated in a release by the Iasi Public Health Department (DSP). Since the beginning of 2011, five cases of AH1N1 flu were confirmed in Iasi, and two of the patients died in hospital in the past days. Other two persons were diagnosed with the new flu, a 34-year-old woman recently back from Italy and a 30-year-old man who contracted the virus in Iasi. The condition of the two patients is stable, the woman being hospitalized at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Iasi, while the man did not need to be hospitalized. In Ploiesti, a seven months pregnant woman, who had been diagnosed with AH1N1, gave birth to a stillborn child and died shortly afterwards.
