Media trust online division head commits suicide

Sorin Danilescu, the head of Intact trust’s online division, plunged, yesterday morning, to his death from the fifth floor of his home block. He had taken over the office as of January 1. Danilescu, aged 37, had a seven-year-old daughter, the Pagina de Media website reports. Danilescu was a development director at “Gazeta Sporturilor” until August 2009, when he was appointed head of Intact Interactive, replacing Bogdan Gavrila. In December 2009, he handed the office to Augustin Roman, remaining the development director. On January 1, 2011, he took over, again, at the helm of Intact Interactive. He was the son of Dinamo sports manager, Constantin (Tica) Danilescu.

“It is a sad way to go, it grieves me deeply. I’m in shock, I still can’t believe it, even after talking to Crina, his wife. Sorin was my best friend, since we were children, and we were still very close. Yesterday, we were supposed to meet at our daughters’ dance practice, but he couldn’t make it. He was fretting about the new job, he was under a lot of stress, a true professional. I can’t find the words to express my grief,” Dorin Chiotea, the director of the Adevarul Sport Division, a former colleague of Danilescu, stated, for “Adevarul de Seara”.

The police initiated an investigation, although there are no suspicions of foul play. (D.F.)
