Romania joins European Space Agency

The agreement for Romania’s joining the European Space Agency (ESA) was signed yesterday at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, in the presence of FM Teodor Baconschi. The agreement was signed by ESA general director Jean-Jacques Dordain and the general director of the Romanian Space Agency, Marius-Ioan Piso, according to a press release from the ministry. The event was attended by several other government representatives, lawmakers and members of the Romanian scientific and academic community.
Romania was accepted as a full fledged member of the ESA under a decision of the Agency’s board on December 16 last year.
