Vadim Tudor asks FBI, Interpol to probe Basescu, PDL leaders

The president of the Greater Romania Party (PRM) sent a letter to the FBI and Interpol, calling on them to look into supposed information concerning the huge wealth amassed by some of the ruling party leaders in Romania.

According to the PRM leader, Traian Basescu amassed EUR 2 bln, a portion of which is deposited in an account at a Brussels bank, money which was made out of weapon deals with the Lebanese Militia Hezbollah. The list also features former Economy Minister, Adriean Videanu, with EUR 5 bln, Radu Berceanu, the former Minister of Transports, with EUR 4 bln, Elena Udrea, the minister of Regional Development, with over EUR 1 bln, and Romania’s Attorney General, Laura Codruta Kovesi, with over EUR 100 M.
