Romanian professor wins grant to study tsunami phenomenon

A Romanian mathematician intends to come up with a model regarding the formation of tsunamis and won a EUR 1.3 M-research grant offered by the European Union. Adrian Constantin persuaded the European Commission that, based on mathematical formulas, one may predict the moment when such a giant wave is likely to strike and estimate its force. Adrian Constantin was born in 1970, in Timisoara, and has taught in several prestigious faculties throughout the world.
