Bucharest District 5 Mayor, Marean Vanghelie, came back, on Saturday, from his visit to the United States. Vanghelie remained true to his reputation as a master of grammatical errors, stating that “all the meetings were very excellent”. He was reluctant, however, to give any details on potential agreements or contracts made in the course of those meetings. “All the meetings were very excellent. Everybody has shown an interest in the fact I wanted to go there and contribute to strengthening, in some way or another, ties between Romania and the US. I believe that the fact I was received by Obama’s advisor, at the White House, to discuss town planning matters, is a step forward,” Vanghelie said. Furthermore, the mayor said he had been invited by several officials to return to the American capital in May. Vanghelie received the seal of the city of Washington, offered by the mayor of the metropolis, and a crystal stopper from an American company. Asked how American women had struck him, he replied, as a parting remark: “I love you”.
