Two men were injured in an explosion which occurred, on Sunday evening, aboard a barge which was under repair in the Constanta Sud-Agigea harbour. The victims were taken to the Constanta Emergency County Hospital, after sustaining ankle injuries, and, respectively, head, chest, spine and leg injuries. The deputy director of the Constanta Territorial Labour Inspectorate, Marian Becheanu, stated, for Mediafax, that two had been performing welding works on the barge the moment the blast occurred, caused, most likely, by gas accumulations in one of the tanks. The Constanta Captaincy and the Territorial Labour Inspectorate initiated probes into the possible causes of the blast.
