Metrorex investment fund might double in 2011

Metrorex might have available this year an investment fund of RON 220.56 M, under a government draft resolution on the Transport Ministry-drafted RON 421.4 M budget for the subway operator, nearly double from last year’s RON 220.56 M, Mediafax reports. The state budget will provide RON 407.7 M of the overall amount, up 94.6 per cent from that allotted in 2010, and the average number of employees will remain unchanged, at 4,180. Also, employee incomes may rise 14.2 per cent, from RON 566.41 M to RON 647.17 M, while spending is expected to go down slightly, from RON 649.68 M to RON 647.17 M. The subway operator will therefore head towards zero profit, after 2010 budgetary losses of RON 83.26 M. Also, the company will pay RON 199.18 M to maintenance operator Alstom.
