Vintu’s trial postponed again

The Bucharest Court’s magistrates have decided yesterday to postpone for February 15 the trial in which Sorin Ovidiu Vintu is charged with wiring money to Nicolae Popa while the latter, who as former manager of Gelsor was sentenced to 15 years in jail in the FNI case, was hiding in Indonesia. Sorin Ovidiu Vintu was not present in the courtroom, having been hospitalized within Bucharest’s Floreasca Hospital with a broken knee. On Tuesday Vintu’s lawyers filed several documents and asked the court to lift its interdiction in order to allow the businessman to go to Vienna in order to undergo knee surgery.
