Mehta, Repin confirm presence in George Enescu Festival

The 2011 edition of the George Enescu International Festival will feature the music talents of Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim and Vadim Repin, festival organizers announced yesterday. Other concerts will feature The Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Valery Gergiev and the Radio Hall Orchestra conducted by Stefan Ausbury. The festival, which takes place once in two years will start on September 1st and will conclude on the 25th. According to Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor, the ministry will contribute a RON 34 M to the event, the rest will come from sponsorship .Most of the concerts will be hosted by the Palace Hall and Athenaeum, while the public radio will air the event live all through September.
