A Craiova child and an Arad woman were confirmed infected with A/H1N1 yesterday, according to Mediafax. The child, under 5 years old, was reported infected by his family’s general practitioner and lab tests at the Bucharest Cantacuzino Institute confirmed the presence of the virus. “Nobody else in his family is infected, we don’t know where he got it from,” said Cantacuzino Institute’s doctor Stefan Popescu, adding that the child was in good condition and was under treatment at home. The second case was confirmed in a woman who recently returned from Italy. The case was the first new flu infection in Arad, local doctors said. The woman, 39, was in a good condition and responding well to treatment.
