Livezeni miners closed down in mine

22 miners from the Livezeni mine, Harghita County, who were due to end their shift yesterday morning, refused to leave the mine, dissatisfied with their unit’s economic situation. According to the trade union leader Adrian Jurca, the miners discussed this situation on Wednesday evening and, on the next day, refused to leave the mine. The miners call for the appointment of a new manager and want to have Saturdays off. A delegation of the Petrosani National Coal Company is currently at the Livezeni mine, to negotiate with the protesters.
