Education Minister attends National Rectors’ Council

Education Minister Daniel Funeriu on Friday attended the National Rectors’ Council meeting in Iasi. Talks mostly focused on the new education bill, with Funeriu insisting that the new law would bring stability to the system and would soon show its advantages, according to the Radio Iasi website. He admitted that the law would not be supported by everybody, but underlined that the new legislation helps modernise the education system and depoliticises schools. The Rectors’ Council was attended by 77 rectors from all over the country, including former Education Minister Ecaterina Andronescu, rector of the Polytechnics University in Bucharest.
