Kelemen gets major boost in UDMR leadership bid

UDMR Mures, the party’s largest County branch, a branch that will have the largest number of delegates at the party’s Congress meeting scheduled for the end of February, decided on Thursday to back Kelemen Hunor’s party leadership bid. In its turn, the party’s Arad County branch decided on Friday evening to back Kelemen’s bid “in order to continue having a predictable political line” and in order to maintain “a good relationship with ruling coalition partners.” The same happened in Bistrita during a meeting attended by the current Minister of Culture. On that occasion he announced that UDMR’s priorities are the national minorities’ law and the law on reorganizing the development regions.
