A raging river killed at least 30 people in Bolivia after a torrent swamped a bus and a truck, police said. Chuquisaca police chief Iver Marquez stated that volunteer rescuers have found 30 bodies so far, and that more people are feared to be missing. Thirteen people managed to reach safety on dry land. Intense hail falling for hours unleashed the torrent, although the river is dry most of the year. There is no bridge where the vehicles were trying to cross.
