One killed, five wounded in auto service centre explosion

A person died and five others were injured yesterday in an explosion that took place within an auto service centre in Otelul Rosu, a town in Caras-Severin County. Ancuta Balint, spokesperson of Caras-Severin County’s Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), stated for Mediafax that the blast was most likely caused by an improperly stored gas cylinder. According to ISU, two of those injured were the centre’s employees, the other three being customers. Three of those injured were taken to hospitals in Otelul Rosu and Caransebes with light injuries, while the other two, who suffered burns and who are in a more serious condition, were taken to Timisoara’s ‘Casa Austria’ Clinic for Burns and Plastic Surgery.
