Adriana and Claudiu Saftoiu finalise divorce

Former presidential advisers Adriana and Claudiu Saftoiu have finalised their divorce. The Bucharest District 1 Judge Hall on Monday accepted their petition to terminate their marriage amicably. The couple’s son will remain in the care of the mother. The two former journalists were part of President Traian Basescu’s team, serving as advisers during his first term in office. Claudiu Saftoiu was then named head of the Foreign Intelligence Agency, a position he kept in 2006-2007. After 2007, the two opened a political PR company, Capital Promotion. In the spring of 2008, Adriana Saftoiu joined the National Liberal Party and won a Deputy seat in legislative elections that year.
