Woman faces manslaughter charges after dropping baby

A 29-year-old mother from Leordeni commune, Arges County, is being charged with manslaughter, informs. The woman fell asleep while holding her baby and the latter fell and died shortly thereafter. According to police officers, the one-month-old baby died on Tuesday. The autopsy revealed that the death was caused by head trauma. “The victim had cerebral haematoma, the consequence of severe head trauma most likely caused by impact with a hard surface. There is a causality link between that trauma and the baby’s death,” an Arges Police communiqué reads.

The investigation revealed that the mother fell asleep while holding her baby. At one point the baby fell and hit his head on the concrete floor. The mother has not be been detained but is charged with manslaughter.
