Azerbaijan’s Igtisadci Baku defeated Romania’s Stiinta Bacau on Wednesday evening, in the first leg of the Challenge Cup, score 3-0. Stiinta was defeated by the more valuable team after one hour and 11 minutes, and will play the return leg on February 8 in Baku. “We’ve met a super-team and although we had a good start the Azeri team’s value left its mark. We also failed to properly use our strong-point – the serve. Nevertheless, I believe we didn’t make a fool of ourselves despite losing at such a score. The difference between the two teams’ budgets, not enthusiasm, left its mark,” Stiinta Bacau head coach Florin Grapa stated for Agerpres.
