Tourists caught in Arges County avalanche

Four mountain tourists from Bucharest were caught in an avalanche on a peak in the Southern Carpathians, Antena 3 informs. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon on Iezer- Papusa Mountains, and one of the four reportedly got out, while the fate of three others is still uncertain. “We were called for an emergency intervention by one of the tourists, who said his colleagues are nowhere to be found, “ Arges Mountain Rescue team leader Ion Sanduloiu told Mediafax. He also added “the caller was highly incoherent and no reliable data could be obtained from him.” According to combined information, the four mountain climbers spent the night at Cabana Voina on Friday and after 24 hours they were seen seeking lodgings at Iezer mountain refuge.
