Dambovita Center developer suspends activity in Romania

The companies Plaza Centers NV and Plaza Centers Management BV, in their quality as associates of Central Plaza Ltd in Bucharest, decided, at the beginning of January, to suspend the company’s activity for a three year-term, as of January 15, 2011, Money.ro reports. Plaza Centers, owned by the Israeli businessman Mordechay Zisser, intended to invest, in Romania, in projects amounting to nearly EUR 2 bln, the biggest of which was Dambovita Center, built on the Radio House’s 600,000 sq m-platform. Alongside these, the Israeli company intended to build another seven malls in other cities in Romania, for which fields have already been purchased. According to data supplied by the company, the seven projected malls were to be built in Constanta, Miercurea Ciuc, Hunedoara, Iasi, Slatona, Targu-Mures, Timisoara, and the terms for their completion were 2013 and 2014.
