Over EUR 2 M for organising tourist promotion events

As part of the project for promoting Romania through the new identity defined by the national tourist brand, the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT) initiated the acquisition procedure of services aimed at organising the events for the promotion and development of tourist products and destinations in the country and abroad, in 2011. According to a press release, the estimated value of the bid is EUR 2 M (VAT exclusive) and the contract will be awarded through open auction held in compliance with the legislation that regulates public acquisitions.


The contract will run for a calendar year after the date when it is signed by both parties. The main criterion is the most economically advantageous offer.


Financing is secured from European grants, through the Operational Regional Programme – Priority Axis 5 – within the operation ‘Creating a positive image for Romania as a tourist destination by defining and promoting the national tourist brand.’


The companies that want to participate in the tender must provide solutions for organising various events, such as: roundtables, workshops, galas, Romanian days, road-shows, conferences, congresses, seminars, tourist scholarships and forums, photo exhibitions, each with its own specific requirements. The winning company will arrange the spaces for events, will provide the promotion materials, will secure the complete logistic of the events, including transport, catering and hotel services.
