FM: I think I should be one of the first deputy presidents of PDL

Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi stated, on Wednesday, that he should be one of the first deputy presidents of the Democrat Liberal Party (PDL)’s national board. “I think we need arguments to restore the party’s credibility, urgently,” Baconschi stated, when asked if he would ask for derogation from the statute, regarding his time in the party, to run for an office in PDL. When asked whether he had considered joining the race for the presidency of PDL, Teodor Baconschi stated this was not an option, given he had not been in the party long enough. Baconschi refused to disclose his candidate of choice for the party president, arguing that, for the time being, there isn’t “any firm, officially announced, candidacy”.
