The most prestigious Irish film festival, Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, running February 17-27, will honour modern Romanian cinema, screening five movies produced in 2009 and 2010, according to HotNews.ro. “JDIFF is pleased to dedicate a special section to current Romanian moviemaking,” the festival’s official presentation reads.
The five Romanian films to be screened in Dublin movie theatres during the festival are: “Autobiografia lui Nicolae Ceausescu” (The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu), directed by Andrei Ujica, “Medalia de onoare” (Medal of Honour) by Calin Peter Netzer, “Morgen” by Marian Crisan, “Buna, ce faci?” (Hello, how are you?) by Alexandru Maftei, and “Portretul luptatorului la tinerete” (Portrait of the Fighter as a Young Man) by Constantin Popescu. Maftei will be present at his movie’s screening and will then hold a Q&A session with the audience.
