Electrica estimates it will obtain permits for wind farms worth EUR 160 M

Electrica estimates that in August or September it will obtain the construction permits for an investment of EUR 160 M in two wind farms, Ioan Folescu, the company’s general manager, stated for Medifax. “The two wind farms will each have a capacity of 50 MW. We hope that this year we will also sign the contract with the wind turbine supplier and we will have the construction permits. The works will span a period of two years,” Folescu stated. He pointed out that in 30 days’ time Electrica will launch the announcement for the tender through which the turbine supplier will be selected. The two wind farms will be built in Chirnogeni, Constanta County, and in Frumusita, Galati County. By constructing the two wind farms Electrica will become an integrated energy company with electricity production, distribution and supply operations.
