The occupancy rate of 3 and 4 star-hotels in Bucharest will rise by approx. 10 pc this year, after rising from 39 to 42 per cent in 2010, according to the Bucharest Benchmarking Report, drafted by the hotel consultancy firm Fivestar Hospitality, Mediafax reports. The occupancy rate of four star-hotels rose from 42 to 46 per cent, while the average price dropped from EUR 63 to EUR 51. As regards three star-hotels in Bucharest, their occupancy rate rose from 37 to 39 per cent, and the average price slumped from EUR 50 to EUR 42. Sorin Ionescu, Fivestar Hospitality managing partner, stated that the difference between the four star- and three star-hotels’ average price continued to ebb, from EUR 13 in 2009 to EUR 9 in 2010.
