Ghita Muresan turns 40

Gheorghe Dumitru Muresan has turned 40. Born on February 14, 1971 in Tritenii de Jos, Cluj County, Ghita Muresan played in the NBA. At a height of 2.31 meters, Ghita Muresan received, along with Manute Bol, the ‘tallest player in NBA history’ title. Nicknamed ‘Big Ghitza,’ Muresan tried acting too, being the main character of the ‘My Giant’ (1998) movie in which he played alongside Billy Crystal. Ghita Muresan’s record for the Romanian national basketball team consisted of 42 points scored in a game against Sweden in November 1992. In 1993 he entered the NBA, playing five seasons for the Washington Bullets (1993-1998) and two seasons for New Jersey Nets (1998-2000). In the 1995-1996 season he received the Most Improved Player Award.
