CSM President Horatius Dumbrava, stated on Monday in Targu Mures that there are politicians who are exerting pressures on the Justice system, mentioning the case of an MP and former Premier who, being accused in a file, sent to the CSM a letter he signed as a politician. “Of course, he has the right to come out in public and state when he feels something is not right in the file, a criminal file this time, to state that he does not believe justice is served as he would like to, however when you send a note to the Lower Chamber and sign it as a politician then there is the issue of apparently infringing on the justice system’s independence,” Dumbrava stated. Asked whether he is talking about Adrian Nastase, Dumbrava nodded. According to him, in his note the MP allegedly doubts the High Court magistrates’ independence, stating that “all High Court judges are political tools.”
