New Senate deadlock over CSM membership

The Senate’s plenary session was suspended yesterday before succeeding in electing a civil society representative on the Supreme Council of Magistracy (CSM) after ruling coalition MPs walked out of the meeting, Mediafax reported. The session was suspended after Democrat Liberal group leader Cristian Radulescu had demanded that the election of a civil society member on the CSM be postponed. Ruling coalition MPs also asked for a break for consultations, but did not return to the session hall and the session was interrupted.
