Timis County Council to buy helicopter worth EUR 400,000

According to a decision voted unanimously, the Timis County Council will buy a helicopter for EUR 400,000. The helicopter will be bought this summer and will be used in case of calamities, accidents, difficult situations and commercial activities, Realitatea TV informs. “This procurement has a double purpose. The first is to try to render the Utility Aviation company’s activity more efficient. They’ve been asking for an investment in flying apparatuses for a long time. The second is for us to have a solution in case of emergency situations in our County,” Daniel Preunca, Democrat Liberal member of the County Council, stated. The Social-Democrat members of the CC claim that they had to vote the budget as a whole although they do not agree with the procurement. “The helicopter is just one of the investments we are going to make. Nevertheless, a helicopter is not a pair of slippers,” Adrian Negoita, Social-Democrat member of the CC, stated.
