Romania’s Sorana Carstea has qualified for round two of the WTA tournament in Acapulco after defeating Austria’s Patricia Mayr, score 6-2, 6-4. Sorana will next play against the winner of the game that pits Romania’s Simona Halep (top seed 5) against Spain’s Laura Pous-Tios. Madalina Gojnea, another Romanian representative, has entered the tournament’s main table after defeating France’s Stephanie Foretz in the third qualifying round, score 6-1, 6-2.
