Tonight in Bucharest

Soprano Teodora Gheorghiu at Radio Hall

The famous soprano will return on the stage of the Radio Broadcasting Hall tonight, starting 7 pm, with a selection of arias and motets signed by W.A. Mozart, under the title “Sweet spring already beckons us …”. This is the second concert that the former prima donna of the Vienna Opera offers since the beginning of the year at the Radio Hall. Appreciated for her fine voice and her pure, round coloratura, Teodora Gheorghiu received an award from the hands of Jose Carreras in 2002, in Pamplona.

Irish night with Shannon Ceili Band

Between Valentine’s Day and Dragobete, between Irish and Romanian traditions, between pros and cons regarding Valentine’s Day, the band Shannon and the Irish Way dancers invite the public to a special night, dedicated to love irrespective of time and place, in a setting fit for a Celtic tale, as the one the Peasant’s Club offers on the last Monday of every month. The special guest, ethnologist Serban Anghelescu, will reveal some of the myths associated with St Valentine’s Day and the Dragobete.
Irish Nights at the Peasant’s Club are organized with the collaboration of the Romanian-Irish Cultural Association and the “Irish Way” Irish Dancing Association.
