The Snow Queen

As snow has made a comeback, the Bucharest National Opera (ONB)’s “Ludovic Spiess” Experimental Opera and Ballet Studio presents “The Snow Queen”, a children’s ballet, based on Hans Christian Andresen’s tale, using a musical collage of works signed by Swedish composer Hugo Alfvén. The show is directed and choreographed by Maria Popa, and stage setting is signed by Andreea Koch. The musical collage is made by Alexandru Istrate. The cast includes young ballet dancers, collaborators of the ONB Studio, as well as students of the “Floria Capsali” Choreography High School.


Cast: Carmen Lupei (Gerda), Andrei Dolcos (Kay), Luminita Dinca (The Snow Queen), Cristina Osiceanu (The Bird), Madalina Stoica (The Witch, the Finn Woman), Tudor Mihai Mezei (The Thief, Grandma)
