Suffering from pancreatitis and an abdominal infection, Teo Trandafir successfully underwent surgery on Thursday, a communiqué issued by the Vienna-based AKH Clinic and quoted by Mediafax informs. The affected portions of her pancreas have been removed and her abdominal cavity has been drained and cleaned, the doctors pointed out in the communiqué. The doctors that performed the surgery claim that the intervention was “successful” and underline that Trandafir will be kept under observation within the intensive care ward in the following days. Trandafir was flown to the AKH Clinic in Vienna on January 11 after being hospitalized six days within the Elias Hospital. She suffered from acute pancreatitis of average severity.
