Baconshi – Netanyahu meeting

On his visit to Israel, Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informs. According to the Ministry, the talks reconfirmed the existence of privileged relations between Romania and Israel, with the two expressing their openness towards the continuation and deepening of the political and diplomatic dialogue that as seen intense development in recent years. The ways of intensifying bilateral cooperation, including by organizing intergovernmental consultations in domains that are of top priority for the bilateral relation, were analyzed. The talks with the Israeli Prime Minister also outlined the two sides’ preoccupation with recent developments in North Africa and the Middle East. The MAE also points out that Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi reaffirmed Romania’s interest to see progress made in the Middle East peace process and her availability to support the overtures that the international community has made in this sense.
