Dinu Patriciu launches MAC.RO stores this summer

Following the openening of the MIC.ro network of stores, billionaire Dinu Patriciu is going to launch the MAC.ro chain this summer. The upcoming stores will display new products, at new prices. At M.A.C.ro stores, the “social contact will be a lot stronger, the focus is not just on shopping,” Dinu Patriciu said last October. In his turn, Dan Ionescu, CEO of Mercadia Holland BV, said that all the miniMAX stores will become MAC.RO stores. “The switch to the new MAC.RO concept will be concurrent at all the stores. Both the products and prices will change,” Ionescu said, who won’t say the amount going to be invested in re-branding the miniMAX STORES. “What I can tell you for now is we will change 80 per cent of the existing products in the miniMAX chain of stores, with the bulk of products coming from native producers,” Dan Ionescu said. The miniMAX stores, to become MAC.ro, have a median sales surface area of 1000 sqms and are located in both large cities and towns with a population of at least 10,000.
