Star of “If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle”, in critical condition at Fundeni Hospital

The male lead of the production “If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle”, the winner of the Berlin Film Festival trophy, Papan Chilibar ended up in hospital, under suspicion of a tragic disease: leukaemia. According to, in early February, Papan felt very ill and was transferred from the Rahova Prison, where he was doing time, to the Jilava Prison Hospital. From hence he was transferred for a detailed medical examination to the Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest, and is suspected of leukaemia. Papan Chilibar (21) came to public attention after playing the character Ursu in the film “If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle”, the winner of the Silver Bear in the Berlin Film Festival and Romania’s proposal to the Oscars.
