PSD Bucharest leader Vanghelie turns 43

Social-Democrats’ Bucharest branch leader and District 5 Mayor Marian Vanghelie on Monday celebrated his 43rd birthday at a restaurant in the capital, in the presence of about 300 politicians, journalists, athletes, artists and unionists, according to Mediafax. Displaying a thoroughly good mood, Vanghelie told journalists that at 43, he does not feel old at all, but stronger than ever, even undergoing a ‘re-branding’ process.

The top guests included former President Ion Iliescu, Senate Speaker Mircea Geoana and other leading PSD members, but also Greater Romania Party leaders Codrin Stefanescu and Marius Marinescu, singers Marcel Pavel and Catalin Crisan, and union leaders Bogdan Hossu and Marius Petcu.

Another prominent PSD member who will soon celebrate his birthday is honorary leader Iliescu, who will turn 81 tomorrow. As in previous years, Iliescu is expected to celebrate his birthday with friends and party colleagues. Tomorrow, he will celebrate at Hotel Phoenicia with PSD Bucharest members, being also scheduled to launch his latest book, “Dupa 20 de ani” (“After 20 Years”).
