BRD, Societe Generale and Citibank will intermediate the secondary offer of OMV Petrom shares

BRD (BRD), Societe Generale and Citibank will form a consortium to intermediate the secondary sale offer involving 9.84 pc of the shares in OMV Petrom (SNP), to be carried out by the Romanian state later this year. “BRD will form a consortium with Societe Generale and Citibank, in view of the auction regarding the intermediary sale offer of a 9.84 pc stake in Petrom by the Romanian state,” said Claudiu Cercel, vice-president for financial markets with BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, quoted by Mediafax. The state wants to sell 9.84 pc of OMV Petrom this year, out of a stake of 20.63 pc it holds in the company. The secondary offer, estimated at EUR 500 M, will be the biggest in the history of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). According to latest reports, the Austrian oil and gas group OMV holds 51.01 pc of OMV Petrom, the state controls 20.63 pc of the company through the Ministry of Economy, and the Proprietatea Fund holds a stake of 20.11 pc.
