St. Andrew’s day proposed as legal holiday

Four MPs propose that St. Andrew’s day, celebrated on November 30, should become a legal holiday, in a bill presented, in the Senate, by the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) deputy Mircea Giurgiu, the National Liberal Party (PNL) senator Emilian Francu and the ethnic minorities’ Deputies Popov Dusan and Aledin Amet. In their motivation, the initiators argue that November 30 is an important date, for the Christian world, the feast of St. Andrew, the one who brought Christianity on the Romanian soil.
