US court approves Necolaiciuc’s extradition

The Ministry of Justice informs that the US Justice Department announced that a US court approved the extradition of Necolaiciuc Mihai to Romania, following requests sent to US authorities in February 2008 and September 2009.


Since June 23, 2009 Necolaiciuc is in the custody of US authorities, in view of his extradition to Romania. The former CEO of the Romanian National Railway Company (CNCFR) Mihai Necolaiciuc was apprehended by the FBI, in 2009, for illegally residing in US. He is wanted for embezzling about EUR 50 M of the CNCFR money.
