Romania ranks 2nd in EU based on annual reduction of retail trade volume

Romania ranks second in the European Union based on the reduction of retail trade volume in January, compared to the same month of 2010, of 5.8 pc, Eurostat informs. The barometer also shows that, out of the 18 states included in the Eurostat report, retail trade rose in nine EU member states, and the fastest growths were reported in Poland (13.1 pc), the United Kingdom (5.6 pc) and France (4.3 pc). In the ranking of countries reporting reductions, Romania is framed by Malta (9.7 pc) and Portugal (5.4 pc). In terms of monthly trends, retail trade rose in Romania, in January, by 1.7 pc, as well as the EU, by 0.6 pc.
