Ion Toma, excluded from PSD Slatina

The Social Democratic Party (PSD)’s Olt County Standing Bureau (BPJ) adopted, unanimously, the proposal to expel the senator Ion Toma from the PSD Slatina organization. “All the 19 BPJ members voted in favour of his expulsion,” the leader of PSD Olt, Paul Stanescu, stated, quoted by Mediafax. According to the same source, the decision to exclude the senator from the party will also be addressed in PSD’s central organization. “Mr. Toma acts as deputy president of PSD at the central level. We proposed that he should be denied any further political support. Based on what was decided in Olt, PSD’s central board will make a decision,” Paul Stanescu stated. When asked what the reasons were for Ion Toma’s expulsion from the organization, the PSD Olt president stated: “They are internal reasons and I would rather not comment upon them”. In response, the PSD leader Victor Ponta stated, yesterday, that he would adopt a position on Toma’s exclusion from PSD Slatin after a talk with both parties involved.
