Udrea and Commissioner Ciolos address EU funds’ absorption

The Development Minister, Elena Udrea, addressed, on Friday, in a meeting with Dacian Ciolos, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, the need to simplify procedures for accession to EU funds, with a view to boosting their absorption rate and finding new sources to finance national projects, a release by the institution informs, quoted by Mediafax. The two officials also addressed the correlation between the cohesion policy and the unified agricultural policy, as well as Romania’s more active involvement in drafting the future post-2013 financial planning.


Moving on to another topic, the minister Elena Udrea and the head of the Satu Mare County Council, Csehi Arpad Szabolcs, signed, on Friday, a contract for the modernization of 10.4 km of county road 194, a project amounting to a total RON 22.8 M, funded out of European money. Non-reimbursable funding will cover RON 17.7 M, out of the total cost.


On the same day, Elena Udrea and the president of the Giurgiu County Council, Dumitru Beianu, signed a contract for the rehabilitation and modernization of county road 411, a project worth RON 109.2 M, funded via the Regional Operational Project.
