Ministers Elena Udrea and Catalin Predoiu, cousins?

‘Puterea’ newspaper unveiled that Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu and the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Elena Udrea are family relatives. According to the source, the relation was unveiled by a common aunt of the two dignitaries, who lives in Pietrosu village, Costesti commune, Buzau County – the hometown of both ministers. While Catalin Predoiu said he was not aware of it, Elena Udrea confirms this might be real. On one hand, there was talk about it in the Udrea family, while on the other Minister Predoiu himself suggested that they might be relatives, after the Boc Cabinet came to power in December 2008. The common relative of the two ministers is Mariea Predoiu, the daughter of the sister of Elena Udrea’s grandfather. She claims that her nephew Catalin Predoiu did not know about her niece Elena Udrea when he was a child, because there is an age difference of 6 years between them. However, Elena Udrea allegedly knows very well the brother of Catalin Predoiu, lawyer Cosmin Predoiu, who was her classmate at the ‘Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu’ high-school in Buzau, “then at faculty, in Bucharest.”
