Head of ING Bank Treasury, laid off

The director of the ING Bank Romania Treasury, Florin Citu, was laid off, a decision which he deems abusive and which he will contest in court, Mediafax reports.

“I have been abusively removed from the office of head of the Treasury. I will contest the decision in court. I have a very good relation with ING Bank and I hope that, after the court ruling, I will be able to get my job back,” Citu stated, when asked about the reasons of his departure from ING. Citu will be represented in court by the dean of the Bucharest Bar, Ion Dragne. Bank officials would not provide further insight into Citu’s sacking, only saying that more information would be provided today at a press conference where the bank will make public its 2010 financial results.
