President thanks Korean envoy for contribution to bilateral ties

President Traian Basescu yesterday received South Korean Ambassador Lee Kwang-Jae on a good-bye visit at the end of his term, according to a press release from the presidential administration. During the talks, the head of state thanked the foreign diplomat for his contribution to development of bilateral ties, emphasising his direct involvement in the enforcement of a strategic partnership between the two countries.
Basescu also underlined Romania’s constant interest in collaborating with Korea, especially on economic level, and voiced appreciation for Korean investors’ contribution to the modernisation of various industrial sectors here. Further­­more, the head of state reiterated Romania’s wish to contribute the enhancement of European Union-South Korean ties and praised the granting of EU strategic partner title to the Asian nation. The agenda also included talks on the recent developments in the Korean Peninsula, the release added.
