Roma boss Costica Argint – released on parole

Costica Argint, sentenced to three and a half years in prison for outrage against morality and arrested, in December 2009, in Italy, was released on parole, yesterday afternoon, from the Focsani Prison, after the Focsani Court approved his petition for release.

On leaving the prison, Costica Argint told the press he would return to Italy the very next day. “I will return to Italy on the next flight because this has been my home for 14 years,” Argint stated. He added that the detention period was “an older debt” to the Romanian state.

Costica Argint was due to return to Italy anyway, after serving his prison sentence, because he is to appear in another trial there, in which he is charged with blackmail and fraud. In fact, the Italian authorities had temporarily extradited Argint, to serve his sentence in Romania.
