Timisoara high-school of musical arts damaged by blaze

A fire started yesterday in the concert hall of the ‘Ion Vidu’ High-School of Musical art in Timisoara, forcing pupils and teachers to leave the building in a hurry. Nobody was injured in the incident. According to a high-school employee, the blaze started behind the concert stage and immediately engulfed the stage a number of musical instruments. When the incident occurred, the hall should have been unoccupied. High-school officials hope the flames did not destroy a piano worth EUR 100,000 that was in the concert hall.
